VLK 105 - May 2022 - VUSION Link

Concept

Today our matching process is based on a link between the label ID and the item Id (that can be the item barcode).
In the case where you have a package containing the same items, there is not necessarily an ID for it. However, VUSION Link does offer a feature where when you perform a matching, it gives you a list of all the similar items you would want to match your label with.

Each package item is considered as a unique and single item.

Please note that the feature requires the use of the following software:

  • Studio

  • VUSION Manager

  • VUSION Link

How to?

Step 1: Edit the BO file

You must designate in your BO files the "parentItemId".
It is important to note that the similar items should always have the same “ParentItemId”.

Here for example, for all Haribo articles we have the same “ParentItemId”: 333.

Step 2: Map this new field in Studio and download your new setting

To be understood by our system, you need to map this new field into your setting thanks to Studio.

A. Back Office tab

Once you have uploaded the file via API: you have to reconfigure the BO file in Studio.

1- Click on “Add new configuration”.

2- Complete sections with the name of the file, type of the file, pattern and text file encoding.

3- Add file.

4- Save configurations.

B. Semantics tab

1- Check the following boxes.

2- On the semantics tab, map your new field on “parentItemId”. Drag and drop the new fields from your BO in the mapping section. Make sure the fields are matching the fields in the article data section.

3- After mapping your new fields, download your setting.

Step 3: Deploy the setting of Studio on VUSION Manager

Read the VUSION Manager user guide part 2.5.2 to know more on how to deploy a setting
VUSION Manager user guide.

Step 4: Activate the feature on VUSION Manager

  1. Go to your “Technical configuration” tab on your retail chain.

  2. Go to “V-Link” tab, select “No” on the section “Item: Matching unknown”, so that VUSION Link will search within the existing items.

  3. Select “Yes” on the section “Item: Select similar item from list” to activate the feature on VUSION Link.

  4. Save configurations.

On VUSION Link matching page:

1- Scan the label or type the label ID.

2- Important! Put the “ParentItemId” in the item id box. For example here: 333.

3- Click on save.

4- You will then have the list of all the similar articles. Choose the articles you need to match with the label. It will save automatically.
